Triple Service Time for Military Personnel: How the Pension for Combat Participants Will Be Calculated.
Military personnel who directly participate in combat actions during martial law receive a triple service time credit when calculating their military pension. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Rules for Service Time Calculation
According to inkorr.com: The military service time is calculated as follows: one month of service is credited as three months of service time if the military personnel directly participated in activities necessary for the defense of the country, protection of the population, and state interests during the armed aggression of Russia. This period must be marked by work in the areas where these activities took place during martial law. The relevant norms are enshrined in the Law 'On Pension Provision for Persons Released from Military Service and Some Other Persons'.
Right to Military Pension
Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel can receive a military pension after 25 years of service or more. The amount of pension payments depends on the length of service, which also includes periods of participation in combat actions. For accurate calculation of service time, commanders of military units must add special certificates confirming their active participation in defense activities during martial law to the personnel files of military personnel.
This approach is important to ensure the correct calculation of pensions for Ukraine's defenders after their service ends.
In wartime, each day of service is a difficult test that requires significant sacrifices and selflessness. Increasing military pensions for combat participants is an important support for those who risk their lives for the defense of the country.
