A draft law on the financial provision of the military has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. Officials believe that the current payment system for defenders is outdated and discriminatory, and they propose ways to improve it, reports novyny.LIVE.
The above circumstances necessitate a review of positions regarding military service during martial law and the enhancement of the system for providing for servicemen of both enlisted and officer ranks as a basis for proper motivation, improved morale, and a sense of the state's care for the soldier's life.As for the details of the draft law, it is proposed to include service under martial law and direct participation in battles as criteria for determining the level of intensity of military service. It is also envisioned to establish coefficients for additional payments under various conditions, such as '3' for military personnel on the front lines and '5' for those directly involved in combat actions. Changes may also affect the pension provision of persons discharged from military service to take into account all additional payments when calculating their pensions. If the draft law receives support in parliament, it could come into effect as early as the next day. Such initiatives and improvements could be an important step in improving the living and service conditions of Ukrainian military personnel.
