Fiber Optic Cables Damaged the Fence: How to Get Compensation.
Issues with Plywood Fencing Due to Virgin Media
According to The Sun: Consumer Stuart Brown reported that Virgin Media damaged his concrete fence panel while installing fiber optic cables in his area. After discovering the damage, he contacted the provider, who admitted fault.
Virgin Media passed his details to the contractor responsible for the work. The contractor advised Stuart to get a quote for replacing the damaged panel, which he did. However, after that, he received no response from either Virgin Media or the contractor.
“Can you help?”
Resolving the Situation
Stuart reached out to customer support, which contacted Virgin Media and recommended resolving this situation. The company apologized for the inconvenience and confirmed that the contractor would cover all repair costs.
Virgin Media stated that they have already contacted Stuart requesting details for payment. After receiving the information, the contractor will send him the money to cover repair costs. The company also reminded the contractor of the high standards they expect.
What to Do When Property is Damaged
Stuart noted that payment is already on the way, and he is satisfied with the resolution of the situation. If your property has been damaged due to company work, you can:
- Take photos and videos of the damage and record when the problems occurred.
- Contact the contractor and their client to discuss the situation and arrange for repairs or compensation.
- Provide them with a deadline for responding to your message.
If the contractor doesn't respond, you may need to contact your insurance company. If they deny your claim, you may consider filing a small claims court case.
Amount Received by the Team: £227,637.
