Verka Serduchka explained why she does not refuse the Russian language.

Andriy Danylko explained that he does not refuse the Russian language due to the need to communicate with other stars, in particular with Laima Vaikule. He noted that Vaikule does not know the Ukrainian language, and he does not know Latvian.

"I have my own attitude towards this. When I am told that I speak the language of the aggressor, I say: 'Or maybe the aggressor speaks Russian?'. Do you understand the difference?" - Danylko said in an interview.

Danylko believes that language carries the possibility of communication. He writes songs mainly in Russian and does not understand why he should change this.

According to Danylko, he understands that his opinion may not be accepted by many and is able to understand that people live in difficult times.

"The psyche is disturbed, everyone is very irritated. And then, probably, do not come to concerts. Well, specifically translating what is not translated, it is already not that, or it is not translated" - added Danylko.

On May 17, a large-scale concert of Andriy Danylko in the image of Verka Serduchka took place in the capital's Osocor Residence. The performer presented his old hits, singing them in Russian. The concert caused a scandal and disputes. TV presenter Anna Tulyueva, who was also present, decided to leave the concert with her friends because they did not want to listen to songs in Russian.

During the concert, Danylko also performed his version of the song Teresa&Maria, which took third place at Eurovision 2024.

It is worth noting that after criticism for performing Russian-language compositions, Serduchka translated her own hit into Ukrainian.
