Agricultural production fell by 14%: which regions suffered the most.
According to inkorr.com: The State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported that from January to September 2025, the volumes of agricultural production decreased by 14% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The index of total agricultural production for the first nine months of this year was 86% compared to 2024. The greatest losses were in crop production, whose index was only 83.6%. In livestock, the decline was less significant — 95.9%.
In large agricultural enterprises, production indicators dropped even more sharply, reaching an index of only 82.5%. The most significant decrease was recorded in crop production — 79.1%, while in livestock, the figure remained at 98.6%.
Private farms proved to be more resilient to negative factors, demonstrating a cumulative production index of 93.2%. The production of crop products in such farms was 93.9%, while livestock was 91.1%.
Regional Analysis
The largest losses in production are observed in the Donetsk region, where the index stands at only 56.1% compared to last year. A decline was also noted in the Kherson region (66.9%), Dnipropetrovsk (75.6%), and Chernihiv (79.1%).
The only region where production increased was the Transcarpathian region, which showed a figure of 102.7%.
Thus, in Ukraine, from January to September 2025, there is a decrease in agricultural production volumes by 14% compared to the previous year. Crop production suffered the largest losses, while livestock shows smaller declines. The toughest situation is observed in large agricultural enterprises, while private farms have remained more resilient to negative trends. In the regional context, the largest production decline was noted in the Donetsk region, while only the Transcarpathian region showed positive dynamics.
