Polish Parliament Speaker Visits Ukraine
According to UATV: On February 23, the Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, arrived in Kyiv for an official visit. During his trip, he met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a joint declaration on a strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland.
The discussions also covered the formation of a joint parliamentary-expert working group, which will provide support for Ukraine's European integration process. Czarzasty emphasized the critical importance of supporting Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression. This visit underscores the strong bilateral ties between the two nations, which share a long and complex history.
Addressing the Consequences of Aggression
During the meeting, he was briefed on the consequences of a Russian strike on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region, which occurred on January 27. This was Włodzimierz Czarzasty's first visit to Ukraine, and he stressed Poland's readiness to support Ukraine during this difficult period.
The signed strategic partnership declaration lays the groundwork for future initiatives to deepen cooperation in various fields, particularly regarding Ukraine's European integration. Poland's own experience in this process could prove invaluable for Ukraine as it seeks to strengthen its position within the European Union. The visit highlights the vital role of regional alliances in countering security threats.
