The National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications found violations of energy independence requirements at 'VF Ukraine' (TM Vodafone Ukraine) after October inspections

The National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications (NCC) reports that after the October inspections violations of energy independence requirements were found at 'VF Ukraine' (TM Vodafone Ukraine), according to a report from 'Interfax-Ukraine'.

Oлександр Животовський, chairman of the NCC, stated that the regulator conducted checks to ensure mobile operators comply with the requirements of the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NCOTM).

'The compliance rate is very low. As a result of the inspections in October, we have already issued a summons to Vodafone Ukraine and are awaiting the operator's response,' said Zhivotovsky.

The NCC chairman emphasized that the main goal of the inspections is to motivate operators to enhance the energy independence of networks and their resilience in critical situations.

In 2024, it is planned to increase the number of inspections by 25% compared to last year, when 18 inspections were conducted. 'This year we are expected to conduct about 24 inspections. Each inspection covers one area of the operator's activity,' Zhivotovsky reported.

It was also reported that only one operator has been fined so far - lifecell. In March 2024, the company was fined 10.45 million UAH for non-compliance with autonomy requirements identified during the August 2023 inspection.

Additionally, it has become known why Ukrzaliznytsia trains do not have internet access.
