Mazepa's sabre in the museum in London
At the White Tower of the Royal Armouries, an exhibition featuring the legendary sabre of hetman Ivan Mazepa has been opened, which will be accessible to visitors until August 3, 2025. This is an important event, highlighted by the fact that Ukrainian cultural heritage can now be seen in one of the leading museums in the world.
Despite the fact that Russia has sought to forget about hetman Ivan Mazepa for centuries, he is now receiving grateful recognition as a hero who defended Ukraine's sovereignty and freedom.
'Prominent actor, writer, and supporter of Ukraine Stephen Fry participated in the ceremonial opening of the sabre at the Tower', it is stated in the message.
Recall that an exhibition named 'The Avenues of Unbreakable Cities' was opened in Odesa. Also, in May, an exhibition of works by Ukrainian photographers Vladyslava and Kostiantyn Liberov dedicated to wartime events took place in Kyiv.
Ukrainian cultural heritage is gaining recognition on the international stage, as Western museums open their doors to exhibitions that spread the history and culture of Ukraine among a wide audience. Ukrainian heritage has the opportunity to immerse itself in the global context, representing Ukraine as an important player on the map of world culture.Read also
