Aaron Ramsey can become Wales' secret weapon at the 2026 World Cup: what Bellamy says.
Craig Bellamy believes in Aaron Ramsey
According to The Sun: Craig Bellamy thinks that Aaron Ramsey can become the secret weapon of the Wales team if they qualify for the World Cup.
The captain of the Dragons, 34-year-old Ramsey, signed a one-year contract with the Mexican club Pumas UNAM over the summer.
GettyAfter a long-term injury to the back of his thigh, Ramsey has returned to form and is ready to play.
Wales coach Bellamy is confident that Ramsey's experience in Mexico will strengthen the team, as Mexico is one of the hosts of the upcoming World Cup.
Bellamy noted: “I’m excited about this, and if we go to Mexico, or if we play there, we will have experience.”
Ramsey did not make the 25-man squad for the crucial World Cup qualifying match in Kazakhstan, which takes place on September 4.

Although Ramsey will not participate in these matches, Bellamy has left the door open for his return in October.
Ramsey last played for the Wales national team in a victorious Nations League match against Montenegro in September 2024.
Bellamy added: “Yes, we want to talk to him. I’m not looking too far ahead.”
He continued: “If you’re not ready to retire – keep playing. Don’t think about it and play as long as you want, if you’re happy.”
Ramsey exhibits impressive skills, and Bellamy is confident that his experience in the team is invaluable: “I can’t find another player like Ramsey. His skills don’t disappear, and there’s still football in his legs.”
“The moment you say no, then ‘Where is your statue?’ We will do that for you, because you were the most amazing player.”
Thus, the positive changes in Ramsey’s career and his experience could prove to be key for the Wales team in the near future. Hoping for his return, the team will continue to prepare for important matches that could determine their participation in the World Cup.
