Watford changes its kit to blue due to Elton John: for the first time since 1959.

According to The Sun: The football club Watford decided to make a significant change to its kit: the traditional yellow set has been replaced with a new blue one.

This change was made possible thanks to the club's president - the legendary musician Elton John.

The legendary musician, who is 78 years old, has been managing the club for almost 50 years.

In honor of this event, Watford will play against Blackburn Rovers in a special kit this weekend.

Instead of the usual yellow kit, the Championship team will play in BLUE.

The new kit is inspired by the cover of John's album 'Diamond'.

Elton actively participated in the development of the new kit, which also has a special detail on the back.

There are inscribed words from his famous hit 'Your Song' from 1970:

“How wonderful life is while you’re in the world.”

The blue kit of Watford also includes the restored emblem Happy Hornet - a logo that was used when John became the club's president in 1976.

This color was chosen not by chance: it is in this kit that the team played when John began supporting the club at the age of five.

Watford last played in blue in 1959 before switching to its current yellow kit.

Elton John shared his emotions about the return to blue in a video on social media.

John noted:

“My passion for this club has never died. I’m so proud of this club.”

“Ever since I was five years old when we played in blue, and there were two rickety old stands…”

“What can I say? It’s in my heart and my soul, you can’t get rid of it.”
