Legendary Pakistani cricketer Wazir Mohammad has died
According to The Sun: Former Pakistani cricketer Wazir Mohammad has passed away at the age of 95.
This ex-batsman was an important figure for Pakistan in the 1950s, having played in 20 Test matches for his country.
GettyMohammad was one of four brothers who represented Pakistan at the international level, alongside brothers Hanif, Mushtaq, and Sadiq.
He remained the oldest living Test cricketer of Pakistan since the death of Israr Ali in 2016.
“PCB is deeply saddened by the death of former Pakistan Test cricketer Wazir Mohammad. One of the four Mohammad brothers who represented Pakistan in Test cricket, he played in 20 matches for his country from 1952 to 1959. PCB expresses its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
Mohammad was born in British India in 1929. After India's independence in 1947, he moved with his family to the newly created Pakistan.
He was part of Pakistan's first Test team in 1952 during the tour to India. Mohammad also participated in a drawn 1-1 match in England two years later, during which Pakistan secured a significant victory at The Oval.
