Mars Reduces the Content of Celebration Packs: What's Changed in the Famous Red Packages.
Reduction of Celebrations Tubes Size for Christmas
According to The Sun: This Christmas, the size of Celebrations tubes has been reduced again, which will certainly spark debates over yet another favorite candy.
Mars has cut the content of its famous red tubes by 50 grams, now containing four fewer candies - a total of 56 instead of 60.
Revealing the Ratio of Chocolates in a Celebrations TubeOur study of one tube of this popular Christmas treat revealed changes in the flavor ratios at this time of year.
The most frequently found flavor in the tubes is Milky Way — 11 pieces in total, which is one more than last year. This flavor, although one of the least popular, received a slight boost.
Second in popularity are Snickers and Mars — with nine candies each. In our studied tube last year, there were nine Mars, while Snickers had ten, this year it has decreased by one.
Twirl fans can rejoice, as their number has increased by one — now a total of seven instead of six. Next come five Malteasers, Galaxy Caramel, Galaxy, and Bounty.
Bad news for Malteasers fans: their count has decreased by two, while Galaxy Caramel, Galaxy, and Bounty have decreased by one.
The number of each type of candy may vary in different tubes.
A representative from Mars Wrigley UK stated:
“We know that every piece of chocolate is truly delicious to someone. This is why the mix of Celebrations has been carefully designed by our chocolate experts since 1994 to make it perfect for sharing with friends and family, no matter the preferences.”
“We will always absorb price pressures where possible, but rising production costs — partly due to well-documented increases in cocoa prices — have forced us to adjust the size of our Celebrations tubes.”
“This is not an easy decision, but it ensures that families can still enjoy their favorite Celebrations mix without compromising on quality and taste.”
Last Christmas, the tubes with miniature pieces of Twix, Milky Way, and Bounty were already reduced from 600 grams to 550 grams.
The cost of the tubes is approximately £7 at Sainsbury's, but Asda is currently offering them for £4.49.
Last week we also revealed the ratio of candies in Quality Street tubes, which have also been reduced in size.
Thus, the reduction in the size of Celebrations tubes marks yet another step in the context of changes in the festive treats industry. Despite the decrease in the number of candies, fans who value quality and taste can look forward to new recipes and mixes to maintain the traditions of festive cheer.
