Slaven Bilic ready to take charge of Rangers: who will be the new manager.
Slaven Bilic ready to return to management
According to The Sun: Slaven Bilic has confirmed he is ready to return to coaching after rumors of a possible appointment at 'Rangers'.
The Croatian specialist may be one of the main candidates for the manager's position at 'Ibrox' following the dismissal of Russell Martin earlier this month.
Slaven Bilic has extensive experience in many leagues and is knowledgeable about the Scottish Premier League PA PAMartin became the shortest-serving head coach of the 'Dukes' in the club's history, having been dismissed after just 123 days in the position, during which he managed to win only ONE of seven matches in the Scottish Premier League this season.
Steven Gerrard, who previously won the championship as a coach in 2021, was considered the front-runner for a return to the 'Dukes'.
However, after Gerrard unexpectedly withdrew from contention, Bilic became one of the options for the club.
The 57-year-old Bilic, who left the Saudi club 'Al-Fateh' last year, admitted he wants to return to coaching.
“Of course, I am ready to work. I am at a good age, and part of me wants to work, but I am waiting for the right offer. In the meantime, I am enjoying life,” Bilic said in Croatian media.
He also added: “I am still working with [former assistants] Danilo Butorovic and Dino Racunic. I have good people around me.”
Former 'Sheffield Wednesday' coach Danny Roll has become the favorite to take the position after Gerrard’s decline.
However, it has also been reported that Kevin Muscat is also actively vying for the role.
Roll, 36, has a good relationship with the club's owners Andrew Cavan and Parag Marathe after a successful interview last week.
However, both owners prefer a younger coach, which may affect Bilic's chances.
Bilic returned to 'West Ham' in 2015, leading the team to 7th place in the Premier League in his first season and securing a place in the Europa League.
He also managed 'West Bromwich', bringing them back to the Premier League in 2020, finishing second.
Meanwhile, the situation surrounding 'Rangers' indicates that the club is searching for a coach who can restore the team after a poor start to the season. Given Bilic's experience, his return could be beneficial for the club. At the same time, competition for the position is increasing, and each candidate has their advantages. Time will tell if Bilic can realize his ambitions at 'Rangers'.Read also
