Wetherspoons brings back beloved dish to the menu after customer complaint: what has changed

According to The Sun: A loyal customer decided he couldn't just walk by.

Adam Gale, a regular at The Rodboro Buildings in Guildford, Surrey, was disappointed to find that the tuna mayonnaise had mysteriously disappeared from the chain's menu, leaving regulars in confusion.

Not settling for a substitute, Adam wrote a heartfelt letter directly to the founder and CEO of JD Wetherspoon, Senator Tim Martin, pleading for the return of this beloved side dish with mashed potatoes.

“I love visiting Wetherspoons pubs across the country. But I'm disappointed to see that at my local Wetherspoon in Guildford, the tuna topping is no longer available for the fantastic baked potato menu,” Adam noted.

Senator Tim, known for his proactive stance, noticed the complaint and acted immediately.

“For decades I have been a supporter of tuna potato. But a few years ago I switched to chicken wrap and salad for lunch, so I didn't realize that the tuna had disappeared. But recently, while I was looking the other way, the tuna had already returned. Your wish is my team’s command, as they say,” he acknowledged.

This decision means that potato fans can now once again enjoy the classic dish of tuna and mayonnaise at a price of £8.90 with a soft drink or £10.43 with an alcoholic one.

Other removed dishes

Restaurants and fast food establishments regularly change their menus to satisfy customer preferences.

Sometimes it can mean that our favorite dishes disappear.

Recently, fans of Greggs were disappointed to learn that the Mexican chicken assortment had been discontinued.

The sandwich had been part of the menu for many years, but it has now been replaced by the ‘Sweet and Spicy’ chicken assortment.

Meanwhile, McDonald's released a new menu last week, bringing back their spicy chicken nuggets and chicken Big Mac.

But this meant that the ‘Tasty Crumbly Cheese’ and Halloumi cheese sticks were removed from the menu.

In restaurant chains and fast food establishments, menu changes are not rare events. Along with beloved dishes disappearing, new toppings and flavors are constantly emerging to replace them. Thanks to the passion of one customer, JD Wetherspoon has returned a beloved dish to the menu. What the rest of the restaurant chefs have prepared can be learned from the updated menu.
