The opening of new establishments has been made possible by a franchise agreement with the family-run business The Papas Group. Under this agreement, the chain will open 15 new locations, including a pub in Gateway Park in Lincoln, on the site of the former Brewers Fayre.

This establishment, named The Hykeham Manor, will open on October 1.

Another three pubs are planned to open in October and November in Anstey, Stockton-on-Tees, and Emersons Green.

The Commercial Director of Wetherspoon, Michael Barron, said: “We are pleased to sign agreements with The Papas Group.”
“We are looking for new opportunities and are confident that more franchise agreements will be signed.”
The Director of The Papas Group, Andrew Papas, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Wetherspoons to open 15 new pubs across the UK.”
“These are not just bars — they are beloved community spaces, carefully located away from the traditional high street, but right at the heart of where people live, work, and meet.”
“This partnership is more than just expansion; it is about regeneration, revitalisation, and reinvesting in our local communities.”

The opening of these new establishments reflects Wetherspoons' plans to expand its presence in the UK market. With new pubs, the company aims to offer residents new opportunities for leisure and socialization, strengthening ties with communities. This partnership aims not only for economic benefit but also for the development of local culture and social life.
