Wetherspoons introduces a new menu item
According to The Sun: The Wetherspoons chain is set to introduce a new menu item based on a classic takeaway dish, costing just £8.99.
From next week, the establishment will begin serving the famous spice bags, which are already very popular in Chinese restaurants in Ireland.
Wetherspoons will start serving spice bags in its restaurants from next weekThis dish consists of chicken pieces fried in Chinese-style spices with salt and pepper. At Wetherspoons, customers can enjoy it with fries or coconut-flavored rice.
Vegetarians have the option to add Quorn 'chicken' pieces.
The offer will start on Wednesday, September 17, and the price for this dish with a non-alcoholic drink will be £8.99. If you want to order alcohol, the cost will be £10.52.
Sarah Shaw, Wetherspoon's food development manager, said: “We are always striving to offer our customers a wide variety of dishes.
“Spice Bag has proven to be extremely popular among customers in our pubs in the Republic of Ireland, and we are confident it will also be well-received in our pubs in England, Scotland, and Wales.”
Spice Bag is currently available in six Wetherspoon pubs in Ireland.
This new offering comes just days after the chain announced the return of the tuna dish with potatoes, which had disappeared from the menu.
Menu changes and expansion plans
This budget establishment is not new to updating its menu to include new dishes. Wetherspoons has also removed steaks, mixed grill, and goulash meat from its menus.
However, not everything is bad for customers, as the chain has introduced a new line of gourmet burgers.
Wetherspoons has also launched a breakfast offer for £2.99, where customers can get a breakfast muffin or a small breakfast with a free drink.
New Wetherspoons establishments
In honor of its fans, Wetherspoons announced plans to open 15 new pubs.
Locations for the new establishments include Lincoln, Bristol, and Cramlington.
This has been made possible by a new deal with the family business The Papas Group, under which the chain will open 15 new establishments.
Additionally, Wetherspoons plans to open another 15 managed pubs.
Here is the updated list of new establishments for this year:
