“When any proposal comes in, the first question is whether to stay at Real. And it was not the right time.”

He added:

“I stayed, and it was a tough season, but I learned a lot. I wanted to take a step forward, take on responsibility after others left.”

Choosing Arsenal

Speaking about his choice in favor of Arsenal, Zubimendi noted:

“I watched Arsenal matches and I liked everything I saw in terms of passion, youth, and the feelings you get watching them. And when Mikel Arteta called me...”

He added:

“If you ever spoke to him, you know he can be very convincing.”

Zubimendi also emphasized:

“He is very passionate about football, trying to control every detail.”

As of now, Zubimendi has played nine matches for Arsenal and has only suffered one defeat. He particularly impressed in the game against Nottingham Forest, scoring twice during a 3-0 victory.
