New Transfers in Dream Team: Who Among the Players is Already Showing Results

According to The Sun: The international break offers a chance to assess the new transfers that have already made a mark in the Dream Team.

There is always heightened interest in newcomers, but some players need a bit more time to adapt. For example, Florian Wirtz (£5.7m) has yet to meet expectations.

Let’s consider the newcomers who have already accumulated significant points.

Defenders

Starting with the goalkeepers. Robin Refs (£2.1m) is showing excellent value at the start of the season.

The new signing from Sunderland has earned 17 points, achieving a clean sheet and saving a penalty. He needs only two more points to match Dean Henderson (£3.5m), Robert Sanchez (£3.8m), and David Raya (£4.8m).

Refs began as the cheapest player in the game but has become a very useful acquisition.

Practically all top defenders have remained with their clubs until the summer transfer window.

Among the new left-backs for Leeds and Bournemouth, mention should be made of Gabriel Gudmundsson (£2m) and Adrien Truffert (£3.1m).

Gudmundsson has accumulated 18 points thanks to two clean sheets and four bonus points, while Truffert has also scored 18 points, taking the place of Milos Kerkenez (£4.8m) at the Vitality Stadium.

Like Refs, Gudmundsson has become a valuable investment at the start of the season.

Midfield Players

In midfield, Jack Grealish (£3.4m) is the standout star.

After signing on loan from Everton, he is enjoying his game again, showing solid results.

Grealish has registered four assists and received maximum bonus points in the match against Wolverhampton, which has brought him a total of 30 points. Only Lucas Paqueta (£3.7m) has a higher rating among midfielders.

Whether Grealish can maintain a high position in the coming weeks remains in question, as Everton will only play three matches in the next three rounds, while other teams will play six matches.

However, the 29-year-old player deserves recognition for his efforts in August.

Bryan Mbeumo (£5.5m) had the highest average rating among midfielders last season and has confidently started the new season at Manchester United.

Goals against Grimsby and Burnley have lifted the Cameroonian to fifth among assets of his position.

Like Grealish, Mbeumo will face a shortage of matches in the coming weeks, but his excellent performances from last season allow his owners to keep him in the squad a bit longer.

Also worth noting are Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£3m) and Mohammed Kudus (£4.7m) – with 20 and 19 points respectively. They seem to have adapted well after their moves to Everton and Tottenham.

Tiadzhani Reinders (£4.6m) is attracting attention as 17.5% of teams have included him in their squads, despite two less successful rounds following his excellent start to the season.

The new number 4 of Manchester City currently has an average score of six points per game.

Forwards

Up front, Joao Pedro (£4.6m) and Hugo Ekitike (£5.5m) have become key figures in the Dream Team.

Pedro has already proven his worth at Brighton, and after moving to Chelsea, he has reached a new level.

To date, no player has more goal involvements (two goals, two assists).

Ekitike, although he did not score in the match against Arsenal, netted one goal and provided an assist against Bournemouth, as well as another goal in the match against Newcastle — making him the fifth most popular player in the game.

Ekitike's fans may be concerned about his form after Alexander Isak's (£6.5m) transfer to Liverpool, but it is premature to jump to conclusions.

Time will tell if Victor Gyokeres (£6.1m) can maintain his form, as he did not stand out in matches against Manchester United and Liverpool but left a mark with a brace against Leeds in the second round.

The Swedish forward has earned 19 points in three matches — quite a decent result, but it is too early to assert his unconditional success.

There are plenty of new players to watch out for, including Isak, Gianluigi Donnarumma (£4m), and Xavi Simons (£4.5m), who have yet to make their debut.
