Cheltenham Winner Moves to Willie Mullins: What Kind of Horse Is This.
According to The Sun: Willie Mullins has acquired a “seriously promising” horse, Brahin Castle, who became a winner at Chepstow after his previous trainer closed the stables.
The seven-year-old Brahin Castle won a Listed race in November 2023, showcasing excellent form.
Brahin Castle showed an excellent performance in the Listed race at Chepstow and has now moved to Willie Mullins after his previous trainer closed the stables. PAThis victory allowed Brahin Castle to rise to the top of the rankings, as he left his competitors behind by 14 lengths. After this, he participated in another Listed race at Ascot, where he finished second, trailing 11 pounds behind the winner Let It Rain.
Little is known about the horse's future at this point, but he may transition to novice status at the age of eight. In this process, Willie Mullins will become an important trainer for him, leading his preparation in Closutton.
The Brookhouse family, who once owned winning competitors, closed their stable in Newmarket and plans to sell all their horses. They intend to reopen the business in Warwick next year, but without their best horse, described as having “brilliant acceleration”.
“My dad has horses with Henry de Bromhead and Willie Mullins in Ireland, and I believe that Brahin Castle will move to Willie,” he said in an interview with Racing Post.
Brahin Castle faced setbacks while preparing for Chepstow last year, but after a lengthy recovery, there are hopes he will return to his best performances.
As a gelding, Brahin Castle possesses excellent genetics from well-known horses, which has already been confirmed in his two-mile victories. The last eight-year-old winner of the novice championship was Like-A-Butterfly in 2002.
This news indicates potential changes in the career of one of the most promising horses in racing. Moving to a new stable under the careful guidance of Willie Mullins could undoubtedly pave the way for Brahin Castle's future successes. We will monitor his performances, which may determine his further path in his sporting career.
