Nik Woltemade makes his debut for Newcastle: what to expect from the German newcomer.
Nik Woltemade is invited to enjoy life in Newcastle
According to The Sun: Nik Woltemade has been advised to 'dive into the atmosphere' of Newcastle, starting with a visit to the famous Bigg Market.
This 23-year-old German forward, standing 6 feet 6 inches tall, is ready to make his debut today in a match against Wolves after his record £69 million transfer from Stuttgart.
GettyDidi Hamann, the first German to play for Newcastle in 1998, urged Woltemade to visit the vibrant city center for better adaptation.
“Dive in. Enjoy it. Bigg Market on a Sunday afternoon, make a few friends. Enjoy the ride.”
Hamann highlighted that Newcastle fans are very passionate about football, and the newcomer must meet their expectations. He noted that it’s important for Woltemade to find 'experienced' support in his relationship with the fans.
Pressure and Expectations
Aside from the fact that Woltemade has to replace Alexander Isak, who transferred to Liverpool for £130 million, the burden of expectations is heightened by Uli Hoeness's statement, the Bayern president, that the new signing is not worth the money they paid.
“He’s a very capable player. I probably would have paid £35m–£40m for. What Newcastle paid is probably double what he’s worth.”
Hamann believes fans need to be patient, as Woltemade needs time to adapt to the new club and style of play. He added that young players often face difficulties at the start of their professional careers.
New Newcastle Forward Line
Woltemade will not be the only forward in Eddie Howe's new setup, as the club also signed Yoane Wissa for £55 million. Hamann pointed out that the combination of these forwards could be extremely effective.
“Isak’s been a fantastic player and probably been the best centre-forward in the Premier League.”
He emphasized that Newcastle has every chance for success this new season due to the opportunities presented by the two new players in the squad.

Fans hope his adaptation will be successful, allowing him to become a key figure in the new team. The situation at Newcastle, with new players and ambitions, promises an exciting season ahead.
