Woman in Horner Scandal Returns to Formula 1: Where She Works Now.
Return of the Woman from the Formula 1 Scandal
According to The Sun: The woman who became the central figure in the scandal involving Christian Horner's correspondence has returned to work in Formula 1. She joined a rival team after Red Bull's head, who was married to 'spice' Geri Halliwell, was dismissed in July.
Getty AFPHorner, who is 51 years old, has been cleared twice of accusations of sexual harassment and coercive behavior. In February 2022, an internal investigation by Red Bull dismissed the woman's claims, and in August of the same year, another independent lawyer also rejected her appeal.
She was suspended by Red Bull in March 2024 after the allegations became public. The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, previously complained, claiming that Horner had solicited explicit photographs from her.
This scandal seriously impacted Horner's marriage and raised significant concerns within the Red Bull team. Despite Horner remaining in position after the scandal, he was later dismissed as head of Red Bull Racing after 20 years in that role.
He was the longest-serving head in Formula 1, leading the Austrian team since its inception in 2005. Although he stayed on after the correspondence scandal, Red Bull has been experiencing declines in both the drivers' and constructors' standings.
Horner led Red Bull to world championships on two occasions: the first during Sebastian Vettel's glory years from 2009 to 2014, and the second during Max Verstappen's era, which seems likely to continue for quite a while.
