Increase of minimum wage
According to The Sun: Thousands of low-income workers will receive support in retirement due to the wage increase next year. The national minimum wage for those aged 21 and over will rise by 50 pence to £12.71 per hour starting from April 2026.
Benefits for workers
This increase will allow part-time workers on this rate to improve their financial situation upon retirement, which will have a significant impact on their lives during this important period.
“Thanks to this increase, our low-income workers will be able to significantly improve their financial situation after retirement,” experts noted.
Thus, the new measures could create a more stable situation for those working for below-average wages. This increase will not only affect the financial well-being of workers but may also stimulate the economy, as more people will be able to afford everyday expenses.
