The spending season in the Premier League has begun

According to The Sun: Premier League clubs have spent over £3 billion this summer, and Dream Team managers have been given numerous new players.

New player: Xavi Simons

The transfer of Alexander Isak (£6.5m) to Liverpool has been actively discussed lately, but managers should also pay attention to Xavi Simons ahead of the 4th round.

After signing with Tottenham, the Dutchman entered the Dream Team with a price tag of £4.5m.

Although this is not exactly a budget option, Simons looks like an attractive player at this price, as his playing style perfectly meets the requirements of fantasy football.

La Masia graduate, the 22-year-old midfielder is noted for his creative approach in attack and is ready to take risks to break through the opponents' defense.

Simons stood out at RB Leipzig, where he scored 11 goals and made eight assists last season, with a goal participation frequency of every 145.4 minutes across all competitions.

In the previous season, he was even more productive, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists, with goal involvement every 138.7 minutes.

Only two players since the start of the 2023/24 season have registered more than 100 shots, 100 created chances (from open play), and 100 successful dribbles in the Bundesliga: Simons and Florian Wirtz (£5.7m).

“This could be a warning sign for some Dream Team managers, as Liverpool's new midfielder has yet to showcase his abilities in this league - he has scored only 11 points in the first three rounds.”

More cautious managers may decide to wait and see how Simons adapts to the new conditions, as the transition from the Bundesliga to the Premier League can be challenging. However, Simons has every chance to earn plenty of points if he adapts quickly.

Simons will have to actively help the team, as James Maddison (£4.5m) has suffered a long-term injury, and Dejan Kulusevski (£4.5m) may not return until the New Year. This means that Simons will have plenty of opportunities from the start.

Tottenham started the season well, winning against Burnley and Manchester City, but lost to Bournemouth in the last round.

The North Londoners recorded only 0.17 xG - their worst figure in four years in the league.

Mohamed Kudus (£4.7m) will appreciate the help in the creative game and has the potential to combine well with Simons.

Further Tottenham news

Tottenham has also signed Randall Kolo Muani (£4m) on loan from PSG.

The French striker will add strength to the team's attack, but Dream Team managers may decide not to take risks, as Richarlison (£3.3m) has already scored twice and provided an assist in the three starting matches of this season, and is likely to remain in his place in the lineup.
