Jamie Vardy's debut in Serie A
According to The Sun: Jamie Vardy did not hide his emotions during his presentation at Cremonese, when a journalist asked whether he thought his best days were already behind him.
The 38-year-old footballer is starting his Italian career, having signed a one-year contract with the Serie A newcomer after leaving Leicester City.

The Italian reporter asked: “In Italy, we are a bit skeptical about players like you who are approaching their 40s. We usually talk about their motivation, how resilient they are?”
Vardy replied: “You are probably one of those who doubts. You are the one I have to prove wrong. Listen, to me age is just a number. I've always said that as long as my legs can do what they used to and feel as fresh as they do now, I will keep playing. There are no signs of slowing down, so I will give everything for this club.”
Life in Italy
The former Leicester hero currently lives in northern Italy with his 43-year-old wife, Rebecca, while their five children remain in Leicester, waiting for their visa issues to be resolved. Vardy noted that their meeting with Italian fans was “absolutely wonderful” and even compared it to Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at Juventus.
He explained: “When interest emerged, I realized that I needed to sit down with my wife, children, and close ones – it’s a big change. But the turning point was the connection with the coach. We talked for almost an hour, and seeing the passion in his eyes really impressed me.”
Vardy also admitted that while it is hard to be away from the children, thanks to FaceTime he can stay in touch, wishing them goodnight before training and school.

Vardy and his family have already studied the match schedule, and the children are eagerly waiting to come and support him. “My wife is here with me, we both miss them, but it’s not forever, and they will come soon,” he added.
Vardy's new team has made an excellent start – they are tied for first place in Serie A after two matches. He may debut on Saturday at San Siro when Cremonese faces Inter.
This transfer to Serie A is a significant step in Vardy's career as he not only joins a new league but also seeks to prove that experience and desire can compensate for age. His motivation and energy on the field may be the key to success for both him and his new team in this competition.
