From September 1, 2025, schools will introduce a new mandatory subject.
According to inkorr.com: Starting from September 1, 2025, a new subject - 'Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy' - will be introduced in Ukrainian educational institutions. This discipline will be mandatory for 8th-grade students, and in the next academic year, 9th graders will also study it. This was reported by the New Ukrainian School website.
Goal of the new course
The main goal of the new course is to develop financial skills and entrepreneurial thinking among students. The National Bank of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, has prepared a textbook and curriculum for this subject.
'The program of the new subject is developed taking into account the age characteristics of the students and includes a wide range of topics from the financial sphere.'
Within the framework of the course, students will gain knowledge of financial culture, personal finance management, banking services, taxation, as well as the basics of entrepreneurship and project implementation.
Teaching the new subject
The course 'Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy' can be taught by teachers of any profile after undergoing special training. This will enable educators to master the necessary teaching methodologies for the new subject.
The introduction of this course is part of a large-scale educational reform aimed at preparing students for the challenges of modern life and developing the practical skills necessary for successful self-fulfillment in the future.
The textbook on 'Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy' will help students master the basics of finance and entrepreneurship, as well as acquire skills for managing finances and implementing their own projects.
