Increase in electricity tariffs for businesses: how much bills will rise from September 1.
According to inkorr.com: From September 1, Ukrainian distribution system operators may change electricity tariffs for businesses. According to member of the parliamentary Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities Sergei Nagornyak, this adjustment may lead to an increase in the cost of electricity by 14-23%, depending on the voltage class.
The main reasons for such changes are debts of distribution companies to 'Ukrenergo' and financial issues in their dealings with renewable energy producers. Unlike businesses, electricity tariffs for the population will remain at the previous level, as Nagornyak explained.
Nothing will change in the electricity bill for the population. The tariff remains unchanged. 4 hryvnias 32 kopecks for those using a single-zone meter, and 2 hryvnias 16 kopecks at night for owners of two-zone meters.
Nagornyak urged companies to be transparent and comply with laws. He also emphasized the importance of oversight of the energy sector by anti-corruption agencies. It is also worth noting that distribution companies in frontline regions will receive a tariff review only from October 1.
We remind you, Naftogaz is tightening consumer requirements: gas disconnection is possible even with a debt of 50 hryvnias.
The previous level of electricity tariffs for the population remains unchanged, while increases of 14-23% are expected for businesses. The main reason for the changes is the debts and financial difficulties of distribution companies and problems with renewable energy producers. While regulating these issues, it is important to remember transparency and compliance with legislation in the energy sector.
The Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities reviewed the possible increase in electricity tariffs for businesses in Ukraine along with the reasons for such changes, while the tariffs for the population remained unchanged. The deputy urged companies to comply with the laws and be transparent in their activities.Read also
