Ukraine lacks billions of dollars: when to expect a new IMF agreement.
Ukraine lacks between eight to 19 billion dollars for financing next year, and currently only a third of this amount is available. To address this issue, a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund must be reached. This was stated by the head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Danilo Getmantsev, in an interview with Novyny.LIVE.
How to solve the financing problem for 2026
Getmantsev noted that the country's financing needs for the next year could total up to 19 billion dollars, but currently only a third of this amount is available. He also emphasized that the government has already approved a program aimed at creating conditions for the development of frontline territories of Ukraine.
'If we are talking about approximately 70 billion in additional financing, which we need from our partners over the next two years, then by 2026 we are only a third secured,'Getmantsev concluded.
During the interview, the head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the country needs to resolve the financial issue amounting to between eight to 19 billion dollars by 2026, but is currently only one third secured for this amount.
