Grant Program for Agricultural Recovery
According to Novyny.live: Registration opens on March 4, 2026, at 10:00 for a Norwegian-funded grant program titled 'Funding for the Recovery and Development of Agriculture' in Zaporizhzhia Region. This initiative is part of the 'Recovery and Assistance to Affected Territories of Ukraine' program, which has been operating in the country for several years. Norway has been a significant contributor to Ukraine's recovery efforts since the full-scale invasion began.
Residents of the Shyrokivska, Matviivska, and Petro-Mykhailivska communities are eligible to apply for this assistance. The grants are designated for specific agricultural needs, including:
- Purchasing livestock and poultry,
- Acquiring animal feed,
- Buying seeds,
- Procuring tools and equipment.
This support is intended to foster agricultural development in these specific areas.
Additional Support for Other Regions
Furthermore, residents of Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Mykolaiv regions have the opportunity to receive grants of up to approximately $5,400, aimed at improving living standards in war-affected communities. Separately, the 'Caritas Ukraine' program offers one-time payments of $250 to families in frontline communities, providing crucial additional support for those facing severe hardship.
Full details regarding the Norwegian-funded program and the application process will be available when registration commences. Information on grants is also accessible for other regions, enabling many residents to seek the necessary financial aid to rebuild their agricultural operations.
The implementation of this grant scheme aims not only to restore agriculture in damaged territories but also to improve the socio-economic conditions in regions impacted by the war. Given that agriculture is a vital component of Ukraine's economy, supporting farmers through such initiatives can significantly influence the recovery of local communities and ensure their food security. This Norwegian-financed program underscores international solidarity and a commitment to supporting Ukraine during this challenging period.
