The situation in Zaporizhzhia and Novohryhorivka
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the information about the capture of the villages of Zaporizhzhia and Novohryhorivka in Dnipropetrovsk region. In their latest address on August 26, they emphasized:
'The defense forces of Ukraine have halted the advance of Russian invaders and continue to control the village of Zaporizhzhia, despite all the enemy's efforts to capture this settlement. Active combat operations continue in the area of the village of Novohryhorivka, where our warriors inflict significant losses on the enemy, destroying occupiers by the dozens every day,' the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
As of 16:00, 71 combat clashes were recorded at the front.
Meeting with the President
On the same day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with military leadership, during which key areas of the front were discussed.
These events confirm the maintenance of control by defense forces in important directions and indicate the continuation of active combat operations in the conflict zone. The president's meeting with the military shows that security issues remain a top priority and require constant attention.
