Suspicions of false declaration

According to inkorr.com: Recently, information emerged that in the Lviv regional trading and commercial complex and warehouse management, the deputy head is suspected of failing to provide information about his house and land plot in the declaration. Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations discovered that these properties were registered in his mother-in-law's name, although they were actually used by the official's family for living. The value of the undeclared property exceeds 6 million hryvnias.

'In 2023–2024, the official intentionally did not declare 0.025 ha of land and a residential house with an area of 139 square meters in the Lviv district, built on this land. The properties were registered in the name of his mother-in-law, but were actually used by the declarant and his family members as a residence. The total value of the undeclared property exceeds 6 million UAH,' the DBR reported.

Audit and inspections

Doubts also arose regarding the origin of the official's assets, as his income does not match the actual level of real estate value. At the request of the DBR, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption has started a detailed audit of this person's lifestyle.

'The DBR is also checking information about an undeclared Mercedes car registered in the name of the official's father. In fact, the relative's income does not confirm the ability to purchase such a vehicle. The car was bought in 2021 while the official was serving as the commander of one of the military units. The approximate value of the car is $18,000,' the Bureau reported.

Court arrest and consequences

At the moment, the suspect's property is under court arrest, and he has been charged with providing false information in his declaration. If his guilt is confirmed, this may lead to imprisonment and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.

This case has become another example of the fight against corruption in Ukraine. Violations of the declaration system undermine public trust and state institutions, thus investigating such cases is extremely important. Society expects transparency during inspections and fairness in sanctions against violators.
