According to inkorr.com: Ukraine, together with European partners, is preparing a phased plan to conclude the temporary protection program for Ukrainians. This initiative is being implemented under the EU Directive on Temporary Protection, as reported by 'Judicial and Legal Newspaper'.

Transition to new opportunities

Ilona Havronska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine for European Integration, emphasized that after the program concludes, Ukrainians will be able to choose: to continue their stay in Europe with a different type of permit or return home.

She noted: 'Now is the time to think about the future - how to transition from temporary protection to sustainable policies built on partnership.'
  • The basis of cooperation is formed by the principles of unity, dignity, and partnership;
  • Ukraine is actively cooperating with European colleagues, planning further steps.

Cooperation with the European Union

Partnership relations are recognized as key for future cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, particularly in the context of the status of over 4 million Ukrainians who receive temporary protection in EU countries.

Thanks to the temporary protection status, Ukrainians in the EU can choose their future: to obtain another type of residence permit or return to their homeland. Together with the EU, Ukraine is developing a plan that provides for a phased conclusion of the temporary protection program and a transition to new, sustainable policies.

This approach reflects Ukraine's readiness to find optimal solutions for its citizens who find themselves abroad. Balanced cooperation with European partners aims to provide the best conditions for Ukrainians who have experienced crisis and to facilitate their gradual return or integration into new living conditions in Europe.
