The Ukrainian youth hockey team became the world champion in Division IV
The Ukrainian youth hockey team achieved victory with a score of 7:2 in the last match against the Japanese national team, thus becoming the world champion in Division IV. This is reported by 'Champion'.
The key moment came in the second period when the Ukrainians scored four goals. Goals were scored by Mykhailo Haponenko, Marko Myronov, Danilo Baida, and Ilarion Kupriyanov. In the first period, Marko Myronov and Oleksii Yevtekhov were also productive, laying a solid foundation for victory.
This victory secured Ukraine a place in Division I of the Youth World Ice Hockey Championship, where they have not played for 14 years.
Previously, the Ukrainian national hockey team won all their matches in the World Championship in Division IV, defeating Estonia (8:1), Poland (3:0), Italy (6:5), and South Korea (5:2).
It is worth noting that Marta Kostyuk (WTA 18), the best Ukrainian tennis player, finished her performances at the 2025 Australian Open. In the third round, she lost to Paula Badosa (Spain, WTA 12) in three sets.
