The Ukrainian national team has reached the League of Nations playoffs by defeating Albania.
The Ukrainian national football team played its last match in 2024 as part of the League of Nations. To qualify for the tournament playoffs, Rebrov's team had to defeat Albania and hope that Georgia would not beat the Czech Republic. Ukraine defeated Albania 2-1, just as the Czech Republic beat Georgia. Now Ukraine is in second place in its group and will wait for an opponent in the playoff round for a chance to be promoted.

And just in the 10th minute, Roman Yaremchuk scored the second goal.

With a score of 2-0 in favor of Ukraine, the teams went to the locker room.
In the second half, the Albanian team played much more actively and had several good chances. One of them led to a penalty, which was converted in the 75th minute by Bajrami. Despite the tense ending of the match, the Ukrainians managed to secure their victory.
This victory means that Rebrov's team will fight for promotion to League A in the League of Nations. For this, Ukraine will have to play against one of the teams that finished third in their groups in the higher division. Potential opponents could be Belgium, Hungary, Serbia, or Scotland. The draw for the next round will take place on November 22.
Earlier, it was reported that the group stage of the League of Nations 2024/25 will conclude with the last, sixth round. The Ukrainian national team will close this part of the tournament with a match against Albania on Tuesday, November 19.
In the match of the 5th round of the group stage of the League of Nations for the 2024/25 season, the Ukrainian national team drew with Georgia with a score of 1:1 at the 'Batumi Arena' stadium in Batumi.
