According to UATV: On May 30, 2023, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, employing a mix of missiles and drones. The attack involved an Iskander-M ballistic missile, six Kh-101 cruise missiles, and 290 Shahed-type attack drones. These drones were launched from multiple locations, including Russia's Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions, as well as from Chauda in occupied Crimea.

Ukraine's Air Defense Response

Ukraine's air defense systems mounted a strong counter, successfully intercepting 284 targets. Among those downed were five Kh-101 cruise missiles and 279 drones. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 'preliminary reports indicate that air defense units shot down or suppressed 284 targets.' Despite these efforts, nine drones struck seven different locations, and debris fell across ten additional areas.

Additionally, two enemy missiles—both cruise and ballistic types—failed to reach their intended targets. As a result, the attack inflicted damage on both military positions and civilian infrastructure, highlighting the ongoing volatility in the region.
