According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on May 28, 2023, that a comprehensive defense package is being prepared with Sweden, which will include the transfer of multirole Gripen fighter jets. This initiative aims to bolster Ukraine's defensive capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has also expressed support for the plan. According to available information, the aircraft will be financed through a European Union loan, which could help ease the financial burden on Ukraine's state budget.
