Meeting of Zelensky and Macron
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Brussels. The main topic of the conversation was strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and bilateral cooperation.
Zelensky expressed condolences to France due to the consequences of the cyclone 'Shido' on the island of Mayotte and praised the consolidation of international support for Ukraine.
The focus was on military assistance. Zelensky provided Macron with a list of necessary weapons to strengthen the air defense and long-range capabilities of the Ukrainian army. France has already provided Ukraine with defense support worth over 5 billion euros.
The preparation of the second strategic reserve brigade was also discussed, as well as the initiative regarding the presence of French forces in Ukraine to stabilize the situation.
In addition, the European integration aspirations of Ukraine and security guarantees, which are important for all of Europe, were discussed.
