President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the bombing of Kharkiv and stated the need for long-range strikes against Russia.
Zelensky noted that Russian troops bombed Kharkiv on Sunday, September 15. So far, 35 people are known to be injured, and rescue operations continue.
"A Russian bomb hit a building. This is an ordinary multi-story residential building. There was a fire, the floors collapsed. There are people under the rubble. At the moment, 35 injured, including three children. All services, rescuers, medics, utility services arrived at the scene promptly, and all the victims are receiving help," the president emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that in this one attack on Kharkiv there were four bombs. The other three were dropped on villages in the Kharkiv region. The same bombs were used by Russians today in Sumy and Donbas.
"In total, at least a hundred of such airstrikes daily. In the last day alone — 128 guided bombs. And the only way to counter this terror is with a systematic solution, and this solution is long-range," Zelensky said.
The president emphasized the need to destroy Russian military aviation at their bases. He considers this a logical decision.
"We have already explained to all our partners why Ukraine really needs sufficient long-range capacity. And every such Russian strike, every manifestation of Russian terror, like today against Kharkiv, against our Sumy, against our Donbas — all this proves that long-range capacity is necessary — and must be sufficient. We expect corresponding decisions, first and foremost, from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy — all who can help save lives with their resolve," the president added.
It should be recalled that analysts assessed whether Putin would dare to escalate nuclear in response to strikes on Russia.
