Zelensky on Russian Provocations in NATO Airspace: What Europe's Response Will Be.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at the European Political Community summit. During the talks, the focus was on the recent provocations by Russia in the airspace of NATO countries.
Discussion of Russian Provocations
Zelensky pointed out the escalation of the situation:
'Recent violations of the airspace of Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia are in the spotlight. Russia is escalating, and we discussed how we can respond to these threats.'
Joint Airspace Defense System
The President of Ukraine also expressed the initiative to create a joint airspace defense system for European countries, in which Ukrainian experience could be utilized. This could implement the EU initiative 'Drone Wall.' Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian military is ready to support Denmark in training and sharing experience.
PURL Initiative and Military Support
The negotiations also discussed the implementation of the PURL initiative, in which Denmark has already invested 90 million euros and plans to continue its participation. Prime Minister Frederiksen thanked for the new military assistance package amounting to over 360 million euros aimed at supporting Ukrainian production within Danish aid.
The meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Denmark was an important step in strengthening cooperation between the countries in the field of security and defense. It demonstrates Europe's readiness to respond together to the threats arising from Russia's aggression and to strengthen the defense capabilities of their countries.
