President Zelenskyy's Statements on Russian Aggression

According to UATV: In a recent interview, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia's words cannot be trusted, as aggression from the neighboring state continues to escalate. He warned that ceding the Donbas region could increase the risk of the war continuing, emphasizing that peace is only possible with the involvement of powerful mediators. Zelenskyy noted that some in the world have begun to believe Russian President Vladimir Putin's claims that Ukraine's absence from the Donbas would lead to an end to the war. This stance reflects the high stakes of territorial concessions in the ongoing conflict.

“For some reason, some in the world have started to consider Putin's words true—that if Ukraine is not in the Donbas, then the war will end” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine, US, and Russia Negotiations

Talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, initially planned for March 5-6 in Abu Dhabi, have been postponed, with no new date or location yet set. Zelenskyy stressed the critical importance of Ukraine's presence in the Donbas, stating, “we must understand that if Ukraine is not in the Donbas, it is not guaranteed that Putin will not continue the war.” This highlights his concern about further escalation of the conflict.

Furthermore, the president emphasized that Putin needs more time to prepare his military forces, including staffing brigades and additional divisions.

“He needs time to prepare, to staff brigades, additional divisions, and so on” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
These comments underscore the gravity of the situation and the need for caution in international negotiations concerning Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy's statements highlight the pressing security issues in the region and the complex situation Ukraine faces. The postponement of talks between Ukraine, the US, and Russia indicates that diplomatic efforts have yet to achieve the desired progress, and the absence of a clear strategy could lead to further escalation. Ukraine maintains its right to defend its territories, stressing that any concessions could lead to more severe consequences in the future.
