Zelenskyy Reports 10,000 North Korean Troops Training in Russia.
North Korean Soldiers in Russia
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that 10,000 North Korean soldiers are currently present on Russian territory, where they are undergoing training to counter modern military threats. In an interview with Kyodo News, Zelenskyy remarked:
“They are training in Russia now because we are responding to Russian attacks.”
North Korea's involvement in the Russian war effort continues as part of Pyongyang's broader support for Moscow. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has praised his soldiers who are participating in combat operations on Russia's side. Furthermore, Russia plans to employ 12,000 workers from North Korea to assemble attack drones, signaling a deepening of military cooperation between the two nations. Kim Jong Un also emphasized that North Korea 'will always be with Russia,' underscoring the enduring nature of their strategic alliance.
Military Cooperation Deepens
The expanding military collaboration between Russia and North Korea highlights a strengthening strategic partnership, forged amid international isolation and economic sanctions. The deployment of North Korean troops for training in Russia suggests both countries intend to significantly bolster their military capabilities, a development with serious potential implications for regional security. This growing alliance is a notable shift in global dynamics, challenging the existing international order. These events underscore the critical need for international monitoring, as the consolidation of such military alliances could alter the global balance of power.
