Zelensky on Trump's Meeting with Putin: Russia Got What It Wanted.
According to inkorr.com: In a journalistic interview with Marti Radatz from ABC News, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska was beneficial to the Russian leader. Zelensky expressed regret that Ukraine did not have the opportunity to be present at this event, as he believes that Trump provided Putin with exactly what he was looking for.
'Putin does not want to meet with me but was very eager to meet with the President of the United States to show everyone videos and images that he is there,'- commented the President of Ukraine.
The Need for Pressure on Russia
Zelensky also emphasized the importance of comprehensive pressure from American and European allies to end the war. He noted that it is critically necessary to stop the import of energy resources from Russia, as some European countries are still purchasing Russian oil and gas.
'This is the only way to stop the killer. We need to strip him of his weapons. Energy is his weapon,'- stressed Zelensky.
Security Guarantees Based on Own Army
The President of Ukraine also noted that security guarantees for the state must be based, first and foremost, on the capabilities of its own army. He expressed confidence that Trump seeks to end the war, but emphasized the importance of achieving a just and sustainable peace. According to Zelensky’s words, victory for Ukraine lies in survival, maintaining statehood, and independence from Russian aggression.
This comment from Zelensky highlights the importance of international support in countering Russian aggression. The Ukrainian president emphasizes the need for efforts from Western partners to ensure stability in the region and prevent further escalation of the conflict. Increased pressure on Russia could become a critical factor in achieving peace and security in Ukraine.
