The talks will focus on Ukraine's recovery package, preparations for potential trilateral negotiations with Russia, and detailed discussions on prisoner exchanges. This meeting occurs as Ukraine continues to seek robust international support for its defense and post-war planning.
According to the information, Ukrainian representatives, including Rustem Umerov, will participate in the meeting. Umerov has received a presidential mandate concerning the humanitarian track. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated:
'I just spoke with Rustem Umerov. Tomorrow he will have a meeting with American negotiators, with Witkoff and Kushner, as well as with the Minister of Economy.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
This underscores the event's significance for future collaboration between Ukraine and the United States.
Exchange Issues and EU Support
Furthermore, the president emphasized that the discussions will also address prisoner exchange matters. 'And thirdly, this is an issue I assigned as a task to Umerov; he will discuss the details of the exchange. We very much hope for a positive outcome on this humanitarian track,' Zelenskyy noted.
It is also worth noting that the European Union has expressed readiness to assist Ukraine in restoring its energy facilities before the next winter season. This demonstrates support from international partners for rebuilding infrastructure and ensuring the country's energy security. The planned meeting with U.S. negotiators represents a crucial step in implementing Ukraine's recovery plan and improving the humanitarian situation within the country.
Cooperation with the United States could unlock new opportunities for funding and investment, which is critically important under current conditions. Conversely, support from the European Union highlights international solidarity with Ukraine and a willingness to help restore its energy infrastructure.
