Ukrainian President Meets with UK Justice Secretary
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with UK Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy in Kyiv on January 16. Their talks focused on critical measures to counter Russian missile strikes and implement protections for Ukraine's energy grid. This meeting underscores the UK's continued high-level engagement with Ukraine as the war enters its third year.
President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the United Kingdom's decision to allocate an energy support package for Ukraine exceeding $26 million. He emphasized the vital importance of this assistance given the current challenges.
"We are grateful for the United Kingdom's decision to provide this energy support package for Ukraine precisely now, when it is most needed," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy provided David Lammy with a detailed update on the battlefield situation and Russian losses. He thanked the United Kingdom, its government, and its people for all the aid provided to Ukraine during this difficult period.
