Zelensky and Umerov held talks with the USA: next steps agreed.

According to ТСН: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov discussed further contacts with US presidential special representative Steve Witkoff over the phone.

As Umerov noted, the conversation took place during his visit to Ukraine, where Zelensky was also present.

Main results of the conversation

"The key point is that we are coordinating further contacts and next steps. The work is progressing intensively and substantively: we are effectively continuing consultations and working through points in documents every day," said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

He also added that he maintains constant communication with European advisors on national security issues, and new contacts have already been agreed upon in the near future.

"Thank you, President Donald Trump, for the high intensity of work of the American team," Umerov noted.

Situation with the peace plan

Zelensky emphasized that after the meeting with US President Donald Trump, the joint peace plan is 90% ready, but two issues - the status of territories and the functioning of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant - remain unresolved. Meanwhile, security guarantees have already been agreed upon 100%.

This conversation highlights Ukraine's activity in international dialogue and efforts to achieve peace. Cooperation with the USA, in particular on security issues, remains an important component of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Currently, attention is focused on resolving the remaining issues of the peace plan to ensure stability in the region.
