No Neutrality: U.S. Arms Only for Ukraine, Sanctions Only for Russia, Rubio Clarifies.
Marco Rubio’s Statements on U.S. Support for Ukraine
According to UATV: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made it clear that America is not acting as a neutral mediator in Russia’s war against Ukraine. He emphasized that Washington continues to back Kyiv while imposing sanctions on Moscow, outlining a core U.S. policy that includes restrictions on Russian oil exports.
Rubio pointed out that, so far, neither side in the conflict—particularly Russia—has shown a willingness to make the concessions needed to achieve peace.
“Unfortunately, up to this point, neither side, especially the Russian side, has shown a readiness to make the concessions necessary for establishing peace.” – Marco Rubio
He also stressed that the United States does not supply weapons to Russia, but exclusively to Ukraine.
“We are not supplying weapons to Russia. We are supplying weapons only to Ukraine.” – Marco Rubio
The Secretary of State further noted that U.S. sanctions are not directed at Ukraine. “We are not imposing sanctions on Ukraine. We are imposing sanctions only on Russia.”
Washington’s Position in the Conflict
These remarks underscore the United States’ unambiguous stance in the war and its ongoing commitment to Ukraine during this critical period. Rubio’s statements reaffirm the consistency of American foreign policy toward both Ukraine and Russia, highlighting the importance of supporting Kyiv against aggression.
The continued enforcement of sanctions against Russia signals Washington’s intent to maintain pressure on Moscow and push it toward negotiations. In this context, it is essential to monitor the next moves of both parties, as the lack of willingness to compromise could prolong the conflict even further.
