Zelensky responds to rumors about the resignation of Umerov and Budanov.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to rumors about the possible change of the chief of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
I was not going to do it. I was not going to change Budanov. This information was circulating, yes. There was no such question about Umerov either
Earlier, the media reported on the possible resignation of Budanov. One of the interlocutors of the Ukrainian publication confirmed such a possibility, stating: "Such an option exists." It is worth noting that some sources suggested that the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, could be appointed to Budanov's position.
Meanwhile, Russian media began spreading fake news that Budanov is planning to become the next president of Ukraine, and his candidacy has already been approved by Western intelligence services.
President Zelensky also explained Scholz's position regarding Ukraine's accession to NATO.
