Zelensky to Visit Berlin to Present 'Victory Plan' to Scholz.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to visit Berlin on Friday, October 11, where he will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This is reported by the publication BILD.
The main purpose of the visit is the presentation of the 'victory plan'.
This document, which Zelensky already presented to U.S. President Joe Biden two weeks ago, contains a strategy by which Ukraine and its allies can force Vladimir Putin to stop the war and come to the negotiating table.
After Berlin, the Ukrainian leader plans official visits to Rome and Paris, where he will also acquaint European leaders with his plan. In the German capital, the Ukrainian president will also hold confidential talks with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Previously, it was planned that Scholz and Zelensky would meet at the Ramstein base in Germany on Saturday, October 12. However, due to President Joe Biden remaining in the U.S. because of Hurricane "Milton," the summit was postponed to a later date.
Recently, speaking at the "Ukraine – Southeast Europe" summit in Dubrovnik on October 9, 2024, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine no later than 2025. According to him, the current situation on the battlefield creates a chance for advancing the cause towards peace and long-term stability already in October, November, and December.
The president also spoke about the action plan developed by Ukraine, aimed at changing the current situation and preparing for the future peace summit. Zelensky noted that since July, Ukraine has been working on a peace formula, which will be fully ready in November with all the conditions for a fair end to the war. This will be presented at the second peace summit.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the importance of forcing Russia to participate in the peace process and comply with the terms of the peace formula, noting that currently Russia is avoiding honest and frank diplomacy.
