Zelensky visited the airborne brigade
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, made a working trip to Pokrovsk. There, he visited the location of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade. During the visit, he listened to a report from the brigade commander, Yevhen Lasiichuk, about the operational situation and security in the region.
The brigade commander reported on the enemy's tactics, which involve assaults by small groups, and also discussed countermeasures and coordination with other units. The experience of using equipment from international partners was also discussed.
Zelensky also familiarized himself with the report of the commander of the Joint Forces Operation 'Donetsk', Oleksandr Lutsenko, regarding the overall situation in the area of responsibility and the specifics of the defense of Kurakhove and other strategic directions.
'A tense direction. I know that only due to your resilience, the East is not totally occupied by the Russian Federation,' the Head of State emphasized during communication with the military.
During the visit, Volodymyr Zelensky awarded state awards 'Cross of Military Merit' to four servicemen for their exceptional achievements. Among the awardees is Junior Sergeant Vitaliy Havrylenko, who evacuated 14 civilians from Maksymlianivka, Chief Sergeant Andriy Hryn, who successfully directed artillery fire, Sergeant Artur Maskevych, who continued to command the fight despite injuries, and Sergeant Konstantin Ploskonos, who saved injured comrades during enemy shelling.
