President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with members of the national Paralympic team of Ukraine - champions and medalists of the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

As a result of the competitions, Ukraine won 82 medals and took seventh place in the overall medal standings and fifth in the number of awards. This year, Ukraine was represented by 140 athletes in 17 sports. 65 athletes are bringing home at least one medal. And 20 Ukrainian Paralympians became multi-medalists of Paris-2024.

Our Paralympians traditionally stood on the podium the most times in swimming (40) and athletics (19). Additionally, Ukraine won a medal in goalball for the first Time.

138 athletes in 17 sports - each and every one. Everyone who expanded the geography of Ukrainian victories at the Paralympic Games in Paris brought Ukraine an incredibly inspiring result: 82 medals - 22 gold, 28 silver, and 32 bronze.

The head of state noted that Ukraine is proud of all its sports heroes, as the Paralympians once again demonstrated to the world that Ukrainians are a nation of strong people. The president awarded Paralympians and their coaches with state awards and honorary titles.

Recall that the Ukrainian Paralympic team completed their performances at the 2024 Games. On Sunday, September 8, the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games took place in Paris. Ukrainian athletes were awarded prizes for winning medals at the Paralympic Games. They are allocated from the state budget by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as prizes for achievements at the Games in Paris

As with Ukrainian athletes competing at the Olympic Games, the size of the prizes for Paralympians was identical: $125,000 for gold, $80,000 for silver, and $55,000 for bronze, respectively.
