The government will pay 8000 UAH for heating IDPs: who will receive assistance

According to inkorr.com: At the end of 2025, Ukrainian families from vulnerable categories will be able to receive financial assistance to prepare for winter. This program is aimed at households without centralized heating, and the funds are intended for the purchase of solid fuel. This was

reported
by the government of Ukraine.

Financial support of 8000 UAH for IDPs

The government has approved additional support for households living near the contact line, as part of preparations for the heating season of 2025-2026. The program includes financial assistance for the purchase of solid fuel before the onset of cold weather.

Each family will receive 8000 UAH. According to government estimates, this support will cover 32,000 households in Ukraine, and the funds can be used for various types of solid fuel.

The program includes compensation for the costs of purchasing:

  • firewood;
  • coal;
  • brickets;
  • pellets.

Conditions for receiving winter assistance in 2025

To receive winter assistance, households must meet several requirements:

  • It is necessary to have the status of internally displaced persons.
  • There should be no centralized heating in the home.
  • The family should not receive assistance from other international or Ukrainian organizations.

Payments will be made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, and funds will be transferred directly to families with internally displaced status. The implementation of the program will begin after the completion of payments by other international organizations currently cooperating with the government, expected in November-December 2025.

Moreover, in autumn, another

government program supporting citizens in preparation for winter
is in operation in Ukraine. According to the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, each household can receive 19,400 UAH for the purchase of solid fuel.

This assistance is provided to residents of settlements located near combat operations - within 10 km of the state border with Russia or the frontline. The program covers nine regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.

First and foremost,

the funds are intended for internally displaced persons
who have moved to these regions. Additionally, elderly individuals, unemployed people living alone, people with disabilities, single parents with minor children, and large families may also qualify for assistance.

In frontline communities, assistance from UNHCR is also available to prepare for the winter season in the amount of 19,400 UAH per family.

Thus, these support programs demonstrate the government's efforts to improve living conditions for the most vulnerable categories of the population, especially in the context of an ongoing crisis. They are designed to help families provide themselves with the necessary resources for the winter period, which is particularly important given the limited opportunities.
